Hamamatsu and the neighboring Enshu region are producers of traditional fabrics.
The term “Enshu textiles” does not describe textiles created using any set weaving method or fabric, but is instead a generic term describing any textile created in the Enshu region.
The region possesses extremely high-level techniques which are employed to create a wide variety of types and textures – with some people even claiming that no textile poses too great a challenge…
Enshu textiles are known for their high quality and luxurious texture, reflecting the high standards of the respective artisans who work on the textiles at each specialized step of the manufacturing process.

We hope that this video will help many people discover the charm of the Enshu region and Enshu textiles.
